He Is Cocaine
He is cocaine personified
Euphoria defined
A love that seeped so rich and toxic
Into the fabric of my heart
A lie that coiled itself so cleverly
Inside the caverns of my mind
He is a crystalline addiction
That snared me in its beautiful deceptions
The adrenaline that forced its way into my bloodstream
That made my heart convulse
As I gasped in wonder
At the dreams he wove for me
Like a veil over my eyes
I ran mindlessly toward him
In the cars of speeding trains
That thundered through the endless valleys
Where my mind returned to him
No cost high enough
No consequence severe enough
To deter me from the ecstasy
Of his lips forming the letters of my name
Of his eyes on mine
Of his hands guiding me
Even now
When he's long gone
His strings still tie themselves to me
No matter how I try to wane myself
From the pleasure of his presence
On the brink of sanity
Chained to cloud nine
I pay the full price of addiction
