Reminiscing
What they don’t know is that I treasure those moments,
Those shared glances,
The careless flowers in my hair.
I treasure the memories
Of laughing about nothing
And smiling about everything.
What they don’t know is that I treasure those moments,
Those mindless days of sitting on the pier
With my feet trailing in the water below.
I treasure the memories
Of baking rainbow cupcakes
And arguing about the baking soda.
What they don’t know is that I treasure those moments,
Those beautiful days
Of running in the sand.
I treasure the memories
Of keeping the sun behind our backs
And the stars in front of us
So that we could gaze at them for as long as we wished.
