What is it?
Something glistened in the starlight.
the air, cool on the girls face, smelled of vanilla
What is it?
she thought as she looked at the thing
it glowed in a way
the way an open sign might glow in darkness
it was topped with a certain red that made her shiver
it reminded her of winter
with the way it looked
she was not close enough to find her answer to her question
it still lingered in her mind.
she heard music, the sweetest of sounds
she found joy in this thing, whatever it was, but
What is it?
she neared it, she knew, and she needed her answer
as she finally got close she reached out to touch it
soft, it was soft as a pillow, almost like… skin
and the answer she finally found;
What is it?
Me.
