Favorite Quote:
"You love someone, you open yourself up to suffering, that's the sad truth. Maybe they'll break your heart, maybe you'll break their heart and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks. The thought of losing so much control over personal happiness is unbearable. That's the burden. Like wings, they have weight, we feel that weight on our backs, but they are a burden that lifts us. Burdens which allow us to fly..."
-Dr. Jack Hodgins (Bones)

Vaporization.
One second you exist,
Then you don’t
Gone
Torn into atoms
Invisible to the naked eye

Scalding.
Best described with lava
Skin touches it
It burns off
Revealing blood and muscle
Screaming in pain
As your skin and blood vessels
Are cauterizing
And disappearing
At the same time

Burnt.
Used with fire
Directly, skin boils,
Blackens, chars,
Flakes off
Fire either numbs
Or is an accelerant
Either result in dead cells
And months in hospitals
With painful medical treatment

Sunburn.
The sun rays
Mainly, tan,
To red, to boils
Easily avoided with sunblock
Easily achieved because of
The Need for a tan
Skin cannot touch anything
For a while,
Versus the five minutes
Of protection

Hot.
Mostly commonly with water
Not high above normal temp
About the same as a fever
It melts away the pain
While slowly causing it
But you don’t know
Until you are out
Of the shower

Neutral.
Normal body temp
There are no changes at all

Cool.
Generally associated
With wind
That cool summer breeze
Refreshing, but not too cold
Sun provides heat
Wind cold
A perfect combo
For pleasure

Cold.
Winter, basically
Sun is blocked by clouds
The wind bites
Because it doesn’t have
A counterpart
Rain crystallizes
And falls
Turning your nose red
Or whitish blue

Freezing.
Snow and/or mountains
You wear layers
But you shake to stay warm
Lukewarm can burn
You are red
From the ‘heat’
Or the cold

Frozen.
Or maybe a better term
Would be
Encased in ice.
Miraculously,
You haven’t died
But you are in constant pain
Ice is thousands of ice picks
On your skin
You cannot move anything
You can’t close your eyes
You must wait
For your brain cells to die
Before you finally die.
