Goodbye Missy
As you breathed your last,
And let the clouds touch your face
As you lay down on that table
And let the angels pick you up
I felt nothing
I went numb
No tears tracked down my face
No sobs wracked my body
No pain stabbed my heart
My childhood companion, gone
In a single instant,
The news was delivered
A hug from my mother, avoided
No one could replace you
Your soft fur
And kind eyes
I went numb
I felt nothing
And you let the angels pick you up
As you lay down on that table
And you let the clouds touch your face
As you breathed your last
Goodbye, my beautiful Missy
