Because
They
"Needed each other more than ever"
And Dinner
was fine
Until
The Dad
Went
outside
for a smoke
Until
The Mom
Poured
herself
a glass of wine
Until
The Son
Forgot
To call
from college
Until
The daughter
Snuck
away
to her room to cry
and cut her wrists
Until
The Phone
Rang
to tell them that
their Aunts Cancer test results
were
positive
