She spent all her time listening to diverse music,
But she sang the same chorus
One song over and over,
A tired, spinning record inside her head.
Something addictive in the my my my’s
To listen to it was like a painkiller because
It scratched around itching inside her head.
A pleasurable kind of scratching.
Waiting to be hummed in someone’s ear.
Like a relieving sigh .
