“There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion.”
E. A. Poe

She
had
just taken a bite;
Her rose red lips pressed
against my skin, leaving me exposed.
How could she be in a spell- when
she looks as if she’s sleeping? The witch
concocted the spell and tricked her to take a
bite out of me; it’s not like I wanted to make
her die. (I’m sure everyone thinks that
wanted to.) But I am only an apple,
a creature of life, not of death.
Please believe me.

The poem is actually shaped like an apple.
