&quot;We&#039;re all a little weird, and life&#039;s a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutual weirdness and call it LOVE.&quot;<br /> -Dr. Seuss

I want to dance
I want to sing
I want some romance
A song that makes me smile
There’s those songs that make me twirl
And ones I could listen to for a while
A song I hate
Absolutely loathe
I am irate!
This one made a pair
Fall in love
Then there's the one that helped repair
Then the song comes on
That brings me old memories
I can barely listen
I freeze up as the recollections flow
My heart races in remembrance
Wishing for the time when life was aglow
Music hits that spot
In the heart
That nothing else can touch
In part
Leaving me something
In that place
In which
Nothing can be erased

The author's comments:
Inspired by that one song that has so many memories for me. But I can barely listen without changing it, feeling like something is missing, wishing, wanting, remembering.

I love your poems. They are too relatable.
