Chicken Feathers and Soda Cans
No one knows how much I've faced,
I'm sometimes alone, crying on the snow-white river bank
Things have changed during my tenure as the reigning failure of this lengthy shore, but when truth rings free from fate's crystal clear bell, I will fly free of my fetters
Littering the streets of the city in my mind are the waste products of careless people that I've acquired with growing curiosity
I don't know how long I've been searching for the tidbits of lives from far away, but I know they hold sweet and bitter memories I'm not bound to forget
I may never know when time comes to an end, for my end will come long before.
Like a farm bird laying eggs, I am sitting and waiting for my moment to arrive,
The waste in my cerebral sanctuary affronts my sanity like a fly to the sticky trap
Teenagers with cans of bubbly fizz filled with sugar crowd me on my shore,
My peaceful shore, with footprints that sit permanently imprinted in the gentle sand as long as eternity swells with thoughts of greatness and flickers of evil, will never fall as long as I shall live,
The shore is in the sanctuary of hope with my greatest wonders and my weakest fears
Cherry pop and lemon drop
Bacon sizzle and pancake flop
Images scatter but alas I can say, the shore is my brain and what I say goes
