Her heart was left
by her sweetest lover
to shrivel and decompose
and pray to discover
She knew good was to come
and waited ever so patient
for a day that never came
her heartbeat now ancient
Such a sound that carried
through the valleys of love
no one maintained with care
resulting in a flood
She went with earthly shadows
her heart protected by grief
and spirits to follow her steps
such that defended in brief
As those who suffer entirely
especially of empty sighs
await something more
than sorrowful cries

This poem is composed of broken pieces of a young girls heart. She awaits something that never comes and her impatience destroys the only hope she has in a future lover.
