They have been with you your entire life.
You both start off as strangers
yet, unaware and unafraid of the dangers.
When you first meet them,
you become like lovers at first sight: inseparable.
It's that one person

They shared and created your most unforgettable memories:
Making your first friends
when you moved to somewhere new,
when grandma read you stories,
when you fought over crayons in second grade,
celebrating your favorite birthday,
when you were lost at the grocery store;
they were your childhood friend.
It's that one person

Both of you start to grow and they help you
discover yourself.
At a certain age, you start arguing
and fighting with them; sometimes
you don't even know if they're your friend
anymore.
Whatever happens, you both pull through
and end up right next to each other,
laughing.
More things make your lives harder to stay in touch.
School, friends, family, and your self-confidence:
you feel judged, you aren't accepted, you fail to succeed,
but no matter, they are there for you.
The uphill battles aren't a problem for them to stick around.
It's that one person

No matter how you feel,
they are the ball of sunshine.
No matter the case,
they are the flowers to your hollow vase.
That person still stuck by you,
knowing all your flaws and mishaps.
It's that one person

They are your friend who you can be silly with
They are your family who tells you right from wrong
They are your teachers who you can learn from
They are your other half who you can be comfortable with
yet, they are the bad influences you try to avoid.

That person was there during the times
you don't recall.
That person was there when your parents divorced.
That person was there when you ignored them.
That person was there when you cried yourself to sleep.
That person was always taken advantage of
and never thanked for.
But that person is still there to support your dreams
because they felt each and every one
of your emotions:
Joy, excitement, guilt, regret, passion, and pain.
It's that one and only person

That person keeps you striving for more,
and never gives up on you.
They give you the stability to live.
Now, are you able to return such a favor?
...Yes
Because.

You are that one person

Give yourself respect and gratitude.
Give yourself the chance to see the world.
Let yourself become a better person to
reach out and help, since
You are that one person who will follow you for the rest of your life.
You are your own true Hero

Others may inspire you, but
you are the one that makes the difference
in your life.

The author's comments:
I came home one day and thoughts about my life just spilled out.
I hope that for whoever reads this understand how important they are in their own life. You make the decisions on whether you succeed or result in ruins,so don't frown upon yourself; instead, let yourself shine. Just know that whatever happens, you will get through it. Most importantly, believe in yourself.
