He Made Me A Soldier
I've gotta get this off my chest
Because of all the pain he caused
He took the light out of me
And I laid there in a crumpled mess
I was lost
Because of the person he became
I had always stood by him.
When times were rough
Like a rag doll, I was just tossed
I realized that it was all a lie
About all the things he told me
But I learned from it
And I said my goodbyes
So my shield became strong
Protecting me from people like him.
I am tougher with my thicker skin.
He made me who I am today.
And day by day.
I walk through the hallways
Feeling more powerful
Because he made me a soldier
And I will never go back to him again
