Waiting for Time
so completely drained of self-respect and a sense of “somebodyness”
adjusted to isolation
I have tried to stand between
we need not follow the do-nothingism
the dimension of nonviolence entered our struggle
flowing with floods of blood, a frightening nightmare
people of ill use people of good will
cannot remain suppressed forever
something within has reminded me of my birthright to freedom
reminded me that i can gain it
moving with a sense of cosmic energy toward the promised land
so let me march some time
come out in these nonviolent ways, in ominous expressions of violence
not a threat;
"Get rid of your discontent"
channeled through the creative outlet
so the question is not
we will be extremist
extremists for hate, or cause of justice
words can be used either destructively or constructively
repent for appalling silence
Maybe I was too optimistic.
marched down nameless
suffering the abuse and brutality
recognized the urgency of the moment
time is neutral
reject the myth of time
eventually
hurry?
progress never rolls in on the wheels of inevitability
All that is said here grows out of a tragic misconception of time
