Who Am I?
Born into a land with
Abundance in natural resources
Gold, diamond, cocoa, timber.
Born into a land of brave warriors,
Yaa Asantewaa, Kwame Nkrumah.
Who stood strong amidst
Foreign domination
Born into a land where
Mothers nurture their children
To become better adults
And fathers teach children
Valuable life lessons
Born into
A land where friends
Are like family
And strangers
Are received hospitably
Yes, we suffered from colonization
But that did not kill our pride
Because we yearned to be free
Like the rivers flowing
Into the oceans
And won our freedom
To become a nation
I am from Ghana
The land of the brave
The land of peace
