"When you find a diamond, try to break it." ~ Prince

I struggle to shake such melancholy,
To remove from me deprivation at heart,
I have forgotten the fake meaning of love,
And I have lost it by far.

I smell the stench of anguish within me,
But I cannot remove such feeling,
That has given birth in me recently,
I have lost all notion of loving.

It broke what has grown in me,
It lost what was inborn sadly,
It cried about certains affections,
It gave to a heart apparently madly.

It fled from a field of branches,
It engulfed flames all alone,
It prevailed the armies numbers,
Without consent of the throne.

What has washed away care,
Has brought upon menacing folly,
What has grown to be striking snare,
Has brought more iniquities upon me.
Unfortunately.

The poem pretty much talks for itself.

Yeah, but of what? Why would I be prone to lose control in the first place? Hint: I lost something...and this something took a piece of me... what did I lose, and what did it take?

I loved this. Is it about being controlled?
