Gallop
The wind in my hair
 As I battle with it
 Hands knotted in your mane
 Fingers curled around leather
 We are flying

 I hear no sound
 But your hoof beats
And the crack of metal striking stone

Your neck arched like a bridge
I bend over it like the cables
There is no room for fear
 No room for emotion
You give a playful buck as I force my heels back down

 Tears streak down my face
 You keep running
 I run with you

I feel sweat on my hands
Whether it is your or mine
 I am not sure
 My legs are jelly
 But yours are iron
You are not done yet but you stop because I am tired
 Too tired to continue
 My heart is a bird
 Fluttering in its cage

I release my death grip from your mane
We stop and I sit back
 I am reborn, made new
Crafted carefully by your gentle touch

 Our hair lies in knots
 I smile and we walk
