Monsters Don't Stare Back
One person in a dark room
Surrounded by their monsters
That beckon to them
With a silent hand
One person trapped
By their own thoughts
Collecting and rampaging
In their own mind
Light switches vanish
The senses become vaguely
Unfamiliar
No sights, they fade
Lost but confined
The person suffocates
From the emptiness
Caving in
Lights return
The person looks up to see
That the monsters they once
Thought to be
Are actually gone
Or at least out of sight
In the corner of the room
Stands a lone mirror
The person looks in and a face
Stares back
