The Lost Given Back
I lost the chance to be a kid,
to know how to smile and laugh.
I lost it all because
someone handed me
the grown-up's world,
and took my childhood
away from my hands.
I stood, trying to ease the pain
that sprang between our family.
Trying to be "the man of the house,"
when really I was a scared,
little girl.
Standing with my legs apart,
a grown-up's world
strapped on my back
and tied to my hands,
when I was still a little girl
at heart.
I lost that chance back then;
to know how to be a child.
But now, I laugh and smile.
I have a mantle of joy, instead of ashes.
You gave back, what I lost back then.
The lost was given back to me.

I'm glad that you could conect to it, my friend. ^_^ That is sometimes true, that sometimes there isn't a person to help you get abck what you lost in the first place. But I think that if we really belive that we can get back what we lost, given back to us. It is sad, becasue it is the truth. A lot of children, so many are growing up sooner than they should have too. I hope people can see that too, when and after they read my poem, my friend. I believ that ahve all grown up sooner, than we shoud have. I just wanted to say all this rambling, lol. Thank you so much, for commenting, my friend! ^_^

This poem was so relatable it was almost scary to read. It made me sad though becuase the reality is that there isnt always someone there to help you get back what you have lost. Sometimes it stays lost forever, or you have to try even harder to stick it up and do it yourself. Growing up too fast is something that is happening to so many children around the world, and I hope that more people can see that after reading this poem. I loved it.

Thank you, TheComet! It's so nice, having you reading my work and commenting on my work! I didn't get the chance back then, but now...God has given back what i lost, little by little. And I feel so blessed. Haha, I'm glad you are spoiled. We all need to be a little spoiled. I'm getting very spoiled by my the people around me who care and by my wonderful God. Thank you so much, dear ^_^ ; )
I have to admit that none of this is familliar to me cuz I had all the time I needed to be a crazy spoilled little girl LOL but reading your poem made me realize how lucky I was! Childhood is an important part of life not only to be as much crazy as we want but also be a child is the chance to discover this giant world in front of us, having some big dreams and giving birth to HOPE. It is so sad to know that you didn't get this chance, I don't know what to say actually except this poem really opened up my eyes to reality and made me realize how much lucky I am. I wish you with all my heart all the best in this life, cuz you certainly deserve it. May God be with you in every step of the way. That was beautisul and so poetic, Great job! Happy to know that it was given back ^_^ Keep writing such amazing poems ;)

This actually made me cry, because it describes a really tough time in my life as if I was the one who wrote it.....just Wow. This is completely amazing, and I adore the style you used. I am putting this in my favorites. XD Thanks for inspiring me to push forward. :)
