as the seas collapsed and the stars exploded
I turned away to stories unworded
recorded scripts of a dark history
are left to a dying, broken victory
the rusty blade of an old bayonet
is all that remains of an aging regret
ghostly bullets fly on a screeching rampage
past faded remains of a spectacular landscape
erupting anger, a throbbing forfeit
the aching skeleton of an forgotten warship
every thought a reverberation
every movement pale elation
