Trapped
We were grains of sand
 Slowly moving down the funnel
 Falling to our death.
Not knowing one flip could resurrect us again.
With time we went farther down,
 Dreading the loss of time,
 But we need not worry
 Because the hourglass shattered
 And our time wasted away.
 But before we could escape,
 The glass was repaired
 Somehow
 And we continued to sink.
 But she, oh she,
 That one grain of sand,
She made it through the cracks.
 Free from the cycle,
 Determined to change her path.
But what she did not know
Was her fate had already been determined.
 And her only liberty
Was that of a bigger hourglass.
 And so she was still
 Just a grain of sand
 Slowly moving down the funnel,
 Falling to her death,
Not knowing one flip could resurrect her again.
