When your heart shatters
you’re gonna
hear
it

hear it like you hear your parents
like your words runnin off your tongue
like your footsteps slippin off the edge
like your heart beatin like it aint got time

When your heart shatters
you’re gonna
feel
it

feel it like you feel yourself
like the breaths on your neck
like the snowflakes on your hands
like the people that should have been there but aren’t

When your heart shatters
you’re gonna
know
it

cause honey, your heart aint made of gold
it’s porcelain, and it aint heavy duty
you’re young and fragile
ready to fly and ready to fall

when your heart shatters you’re gonna lose your breath
and sometimes you can’t get it back.

I feel like heartbreak and immaturity go hand in hand.
