Where I Belong Forever
I arrive to the smell of horses and hay.
My hands itching to feel my horse.
While I walk through the aisle I see her head out of her door waiting for her apple that is in my hand.
When I get to her stall I hold the apple up to make her smile and she does her silly smile.
I go to the ring to see Linda my trainer. On my way it smells like sweet hay and grain.
I pass the tack room and grab my horse’s halter and it smells like leather and looks clean as always.
While I’m on my horse it feels like I’m on top of the world.
We are in perfect trot together.
While we canter her mane is blowing against the wind.
At the end of the day I say goodnight and give her a pat on her neck.
And as always a kiss goodnight.
