Waiting Guardians

The stone guardians watch
As the world passes them by
Always changing and shifting
Never stopping its progress, never looking back
Always looking ahead to the future
They see the war, disease, poverty, and death
But they also see hope
The hope that is ever present in the humans' hearts
So they will continue to watch over them
Until the day comes when they will need the guardians
Forever unmoving
Forever watching
Forever waiting
