Final Release
As I spread my wings, flying through the blue skies
Looking down on the world
I left long ago
Lost in my memories, of time once past
The skies turn grey and dreary, as lightning flashes
Thunder booms and shakes the earth
I feel energy course through me
My wings won't move
I hold my breath, as I feel myself fall
Tumbling and falling to the ever churning and restless sea
Is this the end?
I wonder as I vaguely hear the splash
As water consumes my body, I slowly start to sink
My wings now useless and numb
The existence I now knew
As my cage
My prison...
Was opening the barred doors
Allowing me the freedom,
The release from this world that I so craved
As darkness creeps into my vision
I breathe out my final breath
My back feels the light contact, as I finally reach the bottom
My eyes open for the last time, seeing the dark blue water
Beautiful as the night sky
And just as endless
