The Lion
I stand here in the middle of the room gazing upon all the paths
none or their entrances seem to fit my awkward mass
There are athletes and beauty queens
  musicians and tech savvies
  The artist and Valedictorians
The parade of cliques and categories continues on for an eternity
I sit here and claim self confidence
believing it myself until you force me to squish into somewhere I don’t fully fit
I am not an athlete nor beauty queen,
  musician or tech savvy
I'm no artist and my chance for valedictorian are quite slim
So why must I try to fit in?
Now here I stand in that open room
looking upon the paths you force me to choose
Here I stand and say enough
I am not a little sheep following the bunch
along the common trails they see fit
I will create my own path through the underbrush and vines
the one that fits me and my kind
I pull back my head and let out a roar
for I am the lion taking the path less worn
