Dear William
You are fire.
You are flickering, dancing,
Alive,
You are a heartbeat of red and orange,
The glowing embers,
That give rise to ashes,
Like a phoenix
In a black sky
A swirling inferno,
Kindling the hearth of my soul.
No biggie right,
You’re just a cleansing flame
Searing through every bad kiss
I’ve endured,
Burning up the broken pages
Of every heartbreak.
You’ve blazed through
Every misconception
I’ve ever had about emotion
And devoured the brand
Of my last lover from my skin
Into heat.
You’re a holocaust,
A destruction,
Chaos,
Burn, baby, burn,
I’ve been smoldering
Here in this corner for awhile now,
Choking beneath the smoke
As it fills my lungs,
Asphyxiate me.
Come let me love you, black eyes,
All the pain she left, I’ll kiss away into a bad dream,
A lost lullaby.
My eyes were empty glass bottles,
Echoing with melancholy,
You’ve swept them into a mosaic of colors.
You left me with a goodnight and
I lay awake for hours
You’re a vinyl record
Playing endlessly in my head
Scratched out letters that smell of
Salt and roses cover me at night.
Baby, I wrote epics for you,
Did you read them…
You’ve made me feel timeless,
A merciless ocean,
A velvet teardrop
A Sacramento kiss in the middle of New York,
Come, let me love you, black eyes,
I’ve got pain too.
You’re a confectionary sight
For bitter heart,
A golden iris against
Midnight fire horizons,
I’m the one who’s fire now,
Put me out with your words,
No,
No,
No, ignite me
I want to burn with you.
