The Ugly One
It’s funny how everyone says
“He doesn’t have to be perfect”,
But then expects me not to take offense
When they say
“I feel like you could’ve done better.”
I love how everyone says
“I want a man who will treat me well”,
But then expects me not to laugh at them
When they say
“I’ll take what I can get.”
I think it’s amusing how everyone says
“Looks don’t matter; it’s the heart that counts”,
But then expects me not to scoff at them
When they say
“I thought your standards would be higher.”
To be honest, he’s not the ugly one. . .
Society is the ugly one.
