Veins
The sadness isn’t ending
My stomach won’t stop turning
From your kiss my throat is burning
The driest desert
does not compare
Time could not erase these things
I live and breathe and need these things
Veins like tree roots to my fingers—
palms
How could I cut straight across
Please stop her
Oh I haven’t shaved in weeks
But the razors never left my skin
This ends where you and I begin
The ink is bleeding down my thighs
I think I’ve started lying
Crazy is as crazy does
My flesh is sparkling in the sun
When did this stop being fun?
The driest desert
does not compare
