All it takes is 20 seconds on insane courage, just 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery, and I promise you something great will come of it.

It's not something you can control,
I'd be better off not having it at all.

My body shakes
and my head aches.
My mind draws a blank,
I really wish this was a prank.

I have nowhere to go,
I would much rather stay at home.
My hand wipe away the tears,
"I have to face my fears."

Everyone is staring,
this isn't like the flu.
It's not "You can get over this too."
It's so much more,
but nothing I ever asked for.

Seconds feel like hours when you're being attacked.
There's nothing you can do but sit back.
Eventually it'll finish,
but its presence will never diminish.

If this was a movie it'd be a thriller,
anxiety is a self esteem killer.

Really nice poem and awesome details! Penned perfectly and nice choice of words. So much emotion and detail incorporated. This is just how many actually feel, nice job in capturing the true feeling of having anxiety and placing it into words. Awesome job. keep up the good work.
