Where I am from
I am from the sky, earth, and water.
Scaling trees and buildings, executing back-bending flips, diving into the icy lake.
I am from everywhere.
I am from failure, dismay, and sore skin.
Bone cracking falls, ankle twisting landings, and belly flops.
I am from pain.
I am from unsatisfied parents, teachers, and friends.
Brains leaking from my ears, my soul slipping into the dark void, the monster consuming me
I am from nothing.
I am from the murky sky, the shadow land, and the black water.
Slugging through the day, not even cracking a smile.
I am from the dark veil of depression.
I am from hope, help, and perseverance.
Breaking the chains that bound me, battling the all consuming monster.
I am from strength.
I am from climbing rough terrain, balancing good and evil, fighting death himself.
With no weapons but my brain, willpower, and inner strength.
I am from injustice.
I am from the tip of the mountain, breathing in cold, fresh air, being triumphant.
The world at my disposal, air, earth, and water bending to my will, leaving it all behind.
I am from everywhere.
