I am from the adventure that is
being an astronaut on the moon.
The smell of  burnt grass on a sunny day
and the old, green towel
that made me a superhero.

I am from a time when grandma’s house meant
a jar of crumbly, chocolate chip cookies and
the  powdery yellow chalk that covered my hands
and the monsters that I created with it.

I am from the story of the cat in the silly striped hat
and a of couple of colored fish who taught me to love a great story.
From a time when anything was possible,
only as far as the box of broken crayons on the table.
