Staying Strong
I don't try enough,
That's what people say,
Tell I need to become tough,
And learn to live a certain way.
They don't understand,
The struggles I've faced,
Say I need to take a stand
And stop being dazed.
But if they only saw,
The other side of me,
That tried everyday,
To set myself free.
Sometimes i feel like I'm in a cage
Without a shoulder to lean on,
No place to take out my rage,
No one to wipe my tears off.
I know there are some great things happening,
And some bad stuff too,
But i have to keep believing,
That I'll get through.
People say things,
And try to bring me down,
But i will keep going,
And always stay strong.
They might criticize,
My present situation,
But I will not stop,
Till I reach my final destination.

I wrote this at the beginning of my depression. I was diagnosed recently when I wrote it. It was a really lonely time. No one understood me. This was the beginning of my journey with poetry.
