Booming Cities To Abandoned Towns
Bright lights. Massive skyscrapers line the sky.
Planes
fly above.
Birds
chirping on the once so important phone lines
swinging off the sides of old brick apartment buildings.
Sirens
blast through the evening air.
Rats
wildly scrounging for food.
Desperate cats chase those same rats for food of their own.
Dogs
carelessly roaming through littered streets.
Five star restaurants built underneath old hotels.
Spicy italian sauces fill the air.
Hungry
customers wait in a long lines to be served. Cheers
ring out from the ballpark signalling the home teams scored.
Behind the old hotel. Outside the ballpark.
The aroma from the hot dog stand mingles
with the fresh popcorn.
Exhaust
from the diesel truck idling at the corner.
Kids playing ball. Kids flying kites
Kids by the river catching fish.
Fishing boats floating by.
A big catfish caught below the bridge while up above
the freeway leads thousands of cars out of the big city,
Passing
by old run down towns and
Old farms and farm fields.
Once booming.
Booming cities to abandoned towns.
