The Old Willow
In the night the soft breeze howls through the leaves and branches of the old willow tree. That deserted treasure has seen more broken hearts and knows more secrets than any soul that has ever scoured the earth. In the light of day the old willow can see the people in this world for what we truly are: evil, selfish, uncaring, wicked and mean. When the sun goes down it views the young lovers photograph their time together; so happy hearted, but yet so naïve to think that what they have between them will be able to survive our cold world. In the night the old willow hears the cries of the girl who was abandoned by the only friend she had ever known. The old willow weeps for the distressed souls that it’s come to know.
