Winter
Winter could be nice, a little at a time
Snow could be pretty, but too much makes me chilly
Perhaps if inside was warm, I'd feel a little better
It doesn't help to know that my house is practically the same
Weather as outside
Deteriorating temperature
And my temper goes with it
I'm tired of boot-wearing, can't we just kick it?
I miss flip-flops and t-shirts
Sunshine and frozen yogurt
I miss blue skies and butterflies, sailboats and lapping tides
A blanket of snow so beautiful and magical
Reminds me of the childhood I never will recapture
Crystallitis snow, it used to make me glow
But I have lost the rapture
Of a child
The special amazement in the eyes of Seth and Skye
Even Sierra pauses in her marathon of speech so dramatized
And I wish I could get back
But I can't
There is no way
And as for snow and winter, I'm sure it has it's place
But to get through this season, I'll need a lot of grace
