Lying In the Dark
What is in the dark?
Will I ever know..
Hiding beneath my sheets,
that cover from head to toe.
Every creak and every crack,
fears my mind more and more.
I just really wish I knew
what was behind my closet door.
“It's okay sweetie!”
so everyone's been told.
I feel like someone is staring.
Their eyes bright, but cold.
My blood is flowing fast,
I hear the floorboards creek.
I can't take it, I can't take it.
My stomach's getting weak.
Is someone trying to scare me?
My heart is beating fast,
but I close my eyes to sleep.
I finally feel alone, at last.
