Where I'm From
I am
from a traditional family at Halloween we’d carve pumpkins,
from going to Haunted High the weekend before Halloween,
and spending that week of spring break in the sunshine state.
I am
from the quotes of my family,
“I rather be safe than sorry,”
“Yeah but, let’s live in the woods,”
“Everyone and their mother is here.”
I am
from hearing that eerie creepy creek above the living room,
from seeing and hearing the windows shake like they’re about to fall off from the train going by in the distance,
from barely shutting the lower cabinet door because of the crammed pots and pans.
I am
from having love toward my pets, family and friends.
