“I do all I can to be the best I can”
I always give my all,
I always finish tall.
I never fear my size,
I never fail to rize.
I never come in last,
I never look too my past
In football I give my all,
It's always a brawl.
When it comes to adversity I smile,
And at the end I come up on the top of the pile.
I'm always moving forward to achieve my goal,
I always run my hardest through the hole.
Working hard, to go far,
So I always need to be on my par.
It’s a sport I’d never leave,
It just means too much to me.
That’s why I’d risk my life to play!
Even if it was one more day!
The Ups and The Downs
Its friends and family that make me glad,
but, when someone dies I’m always sad.
It’s the football wins that carry me on,
but, it’s the loss that I wish hasn’t forgone.
It’s the mouth watering food I’ll always enjoy,
but, when I was younger I’d hate to break a toy.
It’s track season Oh’ boy I’m pumped,
but, my girlfriends mad now I’m dumped.
It’s all the parties that give me joy,
but, when I go I feel annoyed.
It’s almost a new year I just can't wait,
but, that means I can’t stay up late.
It’s a good time on my birthday,
but, when it rains I can’t go to the bay.
It’s almost the end of the school year,
but, I still can’t wait for summer to be here!
What a Veteran Means to Me
You make our day everyday.
Without you we couldn’t say, “Hey.”
You sacrifice for us.
Without you who can we trust.
You protect and serve.
Without, we we couldn’t observe.
We love our country with pride.
And solute you when you fight the tide.
You are amazing, we respect you.
Some of us wish we could help too.
We thank you for everything you do.
And everything to come too!
As a writer I’ve learned a few things about myself. I learned that I'm more comfortable with trying something new in the category of poetry, because I've felt
that I’m becoming more and more confident in myself the more I write. Towards the beginning of the year I was a lot more shy about my writing. And not because i thought it was terrible but because I was actually shy, but I didn’t really know what kind of level of writing I was on. I think as the year went on and I shared more of my writing I picked up on some tips and nifty tricks that helped me improve as a writer just by sharing with other classmates. My favorite poem was the emotions poem because it was set up nice and easy with the chart we did to categorize are emotions which made writing the poem a breeze. I made very little revisions to this poem because I put it together well and I think I did that because of how organized it was. I changed the punctuation of the individual stanzas to show importance of individual sections. As well as change stanza length because I felt it was to lengthy and found myself losing my train of thought, while reading the poem..
