Memories of my Brother XVI
I got lost in the clutter of your mind
And the geography between us changed
So that lives were disected by chasms
And you sort of forgot how to cross them
And so did I
Because our relationship was like
An un-ruled bedroom
With books and garments stringing across it
That seemed to settle deeping into place
The longer we left them
And while we procrastinated
Over my sistering of you
And your brothering of me
I felt the tectonic shift
Of our bones lurching away from one other
We never made volcanos,
You and I,
We never came close enough to touching
