Remembering the Pharaoh

A symbol of strength,
a god among men,
begins his journey to the underworld.
The body preserved,
the heart left,
to be weighed on Anubis’s scale.
The stones cut,
dragged through the desert,
a monument to this this symbol of strength.
The jars placed,
the body preserved,
in a case of solid gold.
The chamber empties,
the sand lowers,
there the pharaoh shall remain.
