Your raindrop hands held my face
Into a puddle

I thought about giving up,
Breathing in your water
But instead, I struggled
Against your grip that
Effortlessly rendered me immobile.

You were bitter in my mouth
And muddy in my eyes:
I felt a tardigrade swim
Through my ear and out my nose

Then with a sudden crash of thunder,
You were gone.

Leaving me choking, gasping for air
But the sky was still darkened
And the world was black and white

I knew you would be back
