~Joy~
It started out when she was a small girl,
making paper dolls in her bedroom
Watched her go from high drama
to mature, as she took charge of her future.
I asked her father with determination
“Be careful, cautionary” he warns -- “you’re a kid.”
With high expectations and a thread of fantasy,
We started making what we feel is magical and real.
Bridesmaids and a suit, a real-life fairy tale.
Past three years have been the biggest around.
She’s a working mother of two that give us joy,
but she also stays in bed watching soap operas.
Through my traces of boyhood, loopholes, and bad advice,
I’m a father of two screwball-funny children,
a patent lawyer, and a husband.
It’s the All- American success story, it’s joy.
