I Am Like A Christmas Gift
I am what Americans call
family,
love,
happiness.
They storm the tree,
it dances within its coat of sparkling ornaments,
red,green,blue,white.
but what do they see?
something,
just something,
as unique as me.
I can be that thing you strive in life,
I can be that one tear that drops from your eye,
I can be one more friend that you have searched for,
I've been around the world and back
Throughout minds and wrapped in a box
I am only to be opened on a single day.
For I also ride upon Santa's sleigh.
I am a Christmas gift.
