I choose to have you brief moments
and in those brief moments
I want you and nobody else
and you want me and nobody else
and I love you and nobody else
and you love me and it feels like I’ve been asking
and you’ve finally promised to
at least for those moments
and we both know we’ll never love anyone else the same
we’re just not capable
of staying in love any longer
