Lingering
I still smell your breath on my lips
As you walk up the driveway
And into your house
I like to imagine that your smell
still lingers in the car
even after I pull away.
I enter the freeway with a smile
painted across my face
Picturing you in the moments before I left,
My nose still imagining your scent
as I take a deep breath.
For a second I think I actually smell you
And I grin a bit more,
wishing I could dance with romance
for just a few minutes longer
