Copper chisels, copper saws, and copper blades compose one of the seven wonders.
Gathering around to disturb silence with pounding of copper against granite.
Saws dig into delicate stone blocks and blades to smooth them out.
Late nights, dragging days, and one by one
they
fall.
Marching stampedes across the almighty sand.
Determination takes over and builds upon strength.
First hour with 12 blocks into place.
Late nights, dragging days, and one by one
they
fall.
Fumbling with tired arms and evaporating souls.
Slaves by definition, yet slaves by choice.
First year with still the beginning left to tackle.
Late nights, dragging days, and one by one
they
fall.
Heat radiates off their skin in the morning hour.
Running off of heavy breaths.
10 years makes the halfway mark.
Late nights, dragging days, and one by one
they
fall.
Slow movement now.
Thankful sighs
of 20 years.
Early nights and late days appear.
