Love, Hope, Faith
Love – Love overcomes virtually everything,
Even in the roughest of times.
We win some, we lose some,
But love is the stitching that holds together your heart.
Hope – Hold on, pain ends.
Blessed you will feel knowing the pain is gone;
For him, for you.
Set free is he who flies early from the nest,
When he faces times of trouble.
Faith – Full assurance in the heart.
The tears are gone, mourning is over.
Gentle thoughts of him warm your heart,
Knowing that now he is in the best place of all.

About a week ago, a young boy was shot minutes away from my neighborhood. This boy was thirteen years old and the shooter was merely fourteen. My english teacher and a group of students put together a kindness project to collect money for the family for funeral costs. My teacher proposed the idea to write a poem to give to the family, that wasn't too sad to read, but was heart warming enough to put a smile on the mourning family's faces. This was the poem that was written inside of the card that our class will anonymously give to them.
