We Live On a Speck
We live on a speck.
We sit here, among billions of other specks,
suspended in infinity.
We declare wars on our speck,
so willing to kill one another over land and misunderstandings.
We pollute our speck,
only caring for this generation and not the next.
We strip our speck,
draining it of resources out of selfishness.
We lie, cheat, and steal on our speck,
betraying brothers and sisters out of greed.
We mistreat our neighbors who share our speck,
only willing to feel hatred and prejudice.
We live on a speck.
We sit here, among billions of other specks,
a single lone miracle of biology and evolution.
And we are killing our speck.
