The Past
My past is full of failures
That changed my behavior.
It has made me wiser
And braver.
My past is full of depression
Preventing the progression of life.
No one said it’d be easy
To go against the obstacles in life.
There is no genie
Only the pain from an invisible knife.
One can only hope
That the pain has passed
Because once it has,
It becomes a memory
From the past.

This piece was inspired by Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets and I was experiencing sadness and anger on the day I wrote it, therefore, the poem contains the emotions I felt during that time.
